1、Broaden your speaking abilities by looking at different forms of media such as radio,TV,online discussions and social conversations.
Share these experiences with friends by talking about ideas you found interesting as a way of practicing your spoken English.
2、Stretch your abilities
Speaking practice with a friend or colleague whose English is at a higher level than yours allows you to learn by listening and develop your own skills by responding.
Make sure the difference between your English level and theirs is not too great or you may become discouraged.
3、Repetition with understanding
A great way to build confidence is to watch very short conversations, speeches,or discussions and then, once you are sure that you have understood what was being said, repeat them.
Start off with very short simple extracts and then increase the length and difficulty slowly–making sure that pronunciation aspects such as stress, rhythm, and intonation are as accurate as possible. This will also improve your English fluency.
4、The danger of learning speeches
While it is a good idea to repeat short extracts of speech as described above, you must never try to memorise speeches for the Speaking test.
An Examiner can always tell if a speech has been learnt before the test and rehearsed for the interview.
It is far better to speak naturally and to get as much practice doing this with friends as you can.
5、Don’t be nervous
Try not to allow nerves to stop you from performing to the best of your ability.
Remember, the Speaking test allows you to talk about your life experiences, ideas, and expectations in the most accurate, interesting ways you can.It is largely about you and there is no need to be nervous about yourself.
1.How do you usually contact your friends? Why?
For me/personally,I use WeChat to contact my friends。Even though I prefer face-to-face communication,I’m currently unable to do so.Because they are dispersed around the world and we can。Also, other social media APPs are not available in China. So I can
2.Do you prefer to contact different people in different ways? Why?
Yeah, definitely.Because different people have different personalities, some of them prefer talking>,others prefer texting. But I’ve found that it’s a dynamic thing. One of my friends, she calls me>To be honest,I haven’t written any letters for a long time.I send post-cards when I’m traveling and that’s it.I’m thinking about reviving the habit of writing letters.
3.Do you find it easy to keep in contact with friends and family?Why/Why not?
No,it’s not easy.Because first of all,we are all so busy with our lives that sometimes we get lost in the turmoil of everyday life.Making any kind of relationship work is not easy, you have to make efforts.Besides, there are new people coming into our lives all the time, which makes it even harder to stay in touch with old friends and family members.
4.In your country, did people in the past keep in contact in the same ways as they do today?
No,people communicate differently in the past.Twenty years ago, most people used telephones to talk to each other.I remember when I was little,my uncle had a beeper and I thought it was cooler than telephones. And fifty years ago, people mostly used letters. And before that, there might have been telegrams.I think it’s the same everywhere. With the development of technology, there are always new inventions to make communicating easier.Nowadays,we can reach people in all kinds of ways, different social medias,e-mails,and phone calls.
1、What kinds of thing make you laugh?
Many things make me laugh.I always laugh with my friends. My BFF and I always share a good laugh when we hang out together.I guess it’s because we are both goofy and have a sense of self-mocking kind of humor.
And I love watching sitcoms such as Friends,Big Bang Theory and Mom.Ellen Show also makes me laugh a lot.
Other than that,I sometimes crack up when I recall the hilarious moments in the past。
2、Do you like making other people laugh?Why/Why not?
Definitely,I love people who have a sense of humor,I think it’s a precious trait of people, although I don’t consider myself as an enormously humorous person, because I’m a little shy. But>,when I do make people laugh,I’m also very happy. And I’ve found that in this way,it’s easier to bond with people.
3、Do you think it’s important for people to laugh?Why/Why not?
Of course. It’s so important.Laughter brings people together. When we start laughing with strangers,it’ll bemore likely for us to make friends with them.
Also, laughter is a great way to release stress, especially for many nine-to-five workers. That’s why people are searching for funny videos and stories during breaks and after work.I’ve heard that laughing can help release endorphins to make us feel more relaxed both physically and emotionally. But I think we should also know that finding stimulants to make ourselves laugh all the time can sometimes lead to a waste of time.
4、Is laughing the same as feeling happy,do you think?Why/Why not?
No,it’s not the same thing.
Happiness comes from inside. But laughters can be the result of stimulants and after the moment is gone,a miserable person would be back to his miserable life.
For example,Chester Bennington was known for being the leading singer in the band Linkin Park.He was a wonderful vocalist. Two years ago,he took his own life. And it was so surprising because he seemed to be such an optimistic person,he laughed a lot and loved to make jokes with friends and his fans. But the fact is underneath a care-free exterior,he had been suffering from depression for long. This made me realize that laughing is not equal to happiness. For people who are suffering from depression, laughter might be a pain relief, but it doesn’t solve the whole problem.
